A Singing Tree – Psalm 96:11-13

At first this looked more like a spooky tree.  But now, after seeing it in light of Psalm 96, I see it as a singing tree.  Yes, see his mouth so wide open, with his arms lifted up to the Lord, singing so loudly, praises to the Lord.

Yes, the old oak tree has its purpose. It’s too bad, he is the only one around, however, it appears that he has a very loud voice—or maybe just a big mouth! Sorry old tree.

Psalm 96:11-13

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;

Let the sea roar, and all it contains;

12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy

13 Before the Lord, for He is coming,

For He is coming to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness

And the peoples in His faithfulness.

1 Chronicles 16:33-34

Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord;

For He is coming to judge the earth.

34 O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

Psalm 134:1-2

Behold, bless the Lord, all servants of the Lord,

Who serve by night in the house of the Lord!

2 Lift up your hands to the sanctuary,

And bless the Lord.

The Squirrel

A Squirrel

A squirrelly, eccentric one

He visits my trees quite often

He brazenly exposes his folly

You know my folly, O God;

my guilt is not hidden from you. Psalm 69:5

Every prudent man acts out of knowledge,

but a fool exposes his folly. Proverbs 13:16

As a dog returns to its vomit,

so a fool repeats his folly. Proverbs 26:11

On the other hand, though the squirrel may look foolish and full of folly, I think he is also a cute little fellow and full of energy. I wish I had his energy. He also is wise in that he knows how to store food for the winter. But he is a pest. A few years ago i had squirrels in my attic and they made a mess and noise!

Searching for Spring

It’s that time of year when we begin to see water running in the streams.

When the ice is melting.

When soon the spring rain will wash away the snow and ice.

We must be patient for it’s coming.

The spring rains will come as they always have.

Likewise, He will also come, and we patiently wait for Him.

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. James 5:7-8

Let us acknowledge the Lord;

let us press on to acknowledge him.

As surely as the sun rises,

he will appear;

he will come to us like the winter rains,

like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Hosea 6:3

God Sends the Snow Even in the Spring!

Today is the first day of Spring.  And it is snowing!  We must not complain, however, because God has brought it to us. Let it snow!

He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ Job 37:6

He sends his command to the earth;

his word runs swiftly.

16 He spreads the snow like wool

and scatters the frost like ashes. Psalm 147:15-16

A Woodpecker Waits On the Lord for His Next Meal

This cute little woodpecker looks to heaven for his next morsel of food.

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matt 6:26-27

He makes springs pour water into the ravines;

it flows between the mountains.

11 They give water to all the beasts of the field;

the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12 The birds of the air nest by the waters;

they sing among the branches. Ps 104:10-12
