I don’t know why, but it seems that the blue sky in winter is so much more blue than in the summer time. The contrast is wonderful.
Here the blue is a little less blue, but still beautiful. Oh, look at the blue shadows across the snow–that darker blue that I was looking for.
A closer focus.
I love the winter colors here. A perfect scene to frame. So pleasant to the eyes. God is good to us.
Heading home from my walk I noticed the sparkling afternoon light on the tall grass. what a delight!
Next, my attention was draw to the light in the sky. Beautiful!
I dared to move even closer to the sun in the western sky.
This picture was taken eight days later (December 3rd) at a different place. But notice that the time of day was the same–showing the afternoon autumn light.
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God saw that the light was good. (Genesis 1:3-4)
About a month age, mid November, I went for a walk. It was cold but calm. When I decided to walk along the lake shore I was surprised by the clear reflection on the water.
It’s almost as clear as a mirror image.
Reflections of the glory of God.
I love to see the billowing clouds. God is at work bringing the rain.
These are images, looking down on a creek from a bridge. I love the way the sun looks in the water.
There are so many parks and nature trails where I live, most are quite lovely. This day, a Saturday, I had my sight on this new place.
Suddenly, the trail veered off to the right.
It took me to places I didn’t know existed.
Deeper and deeper into the wooded park I walk, along the winding trail.
This time of year is the best time to walk. The temp is just right, no mosquitoes (yet), and the foliage is light. Perfect.
What’s around the corner? who can tell. I keep walking.
This trail is full of surprises. From here there is quite a drop off, and then up again. I am tired and can go no longer. I return home back on the same trail. God is good!
A scraggly looking tree, but quite interesting.
Despite a dirty window, they look pretty cool!
How beautiful are these clouds brushed over the crystal blue sky.
The day after God brought the snow, here in Minnesota, He brought a beautiful blue sky. So beautiful!
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Ecclesiastes 3:3, 11
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
